I have read numerous websites, journals, etc. and it really all depends when you catch it, how you treat it, etc. Certain people interact with antibiotics better than others so sometimes that can get it and other times there is no choice but to drain or cut. They say there's a 50/50 shot of it coming back if it's not fully cut out. If mine drains, then I'm not getting it cut out unless it keeps on coming back. I tend to favor both. If your spine is out of alignment, massage won't necessarily get it in place. (In fact, massage therapists are not allowed to do chiropractic adjustments.) However, if the muscles are tense and "splinting" to support your spine, the chiropractic treatment may not last unless you get the muscles to relax.
